A First Month Review of BloggingNotes.net

Date December 6, 2007

Welcome to BloggingNotes. You may want to subscribe to my full text RSS feed. This message will only appear once. Thanks for visiting!

Quite a bit of what you’ll read here is very similar to what I posted the other day about a blog being successful. However, this is more of a breakdown of traffic, etc. that I’ve seen over the last 30 days.

To say that I expected the traffic and the feedback that I got would be a gross understatement. While they may not be the greatest numbers in the world, they’re certainly better than what I imagined a month ago.

Needless to say, a great deal of the traffic that has come by has come via BloggingZoom. I don’t think that there would have been near the amount traffic come through here without BZ, and, consequently, StumbleUpon. Twenty nine of the thirty two posts that I submitted to BZ have gone “hot”, or 90.6% of them. I haven’t really had a chance to analyze the posts that have gotten a lot of zooms against those that didn’t. Some posts that I thought would do a lot better, didn’t, and some of the ones that I figured would do nothing took off. I need to have a look at those ones to figure what I did right in those cases.

What posts drew the highest number of zooms?

My goal for the next month is to have a post hit 25 zooms. The only stipulation that I have for myself is, that it can’t already have a number of zooms, and then slowly crawl to 25. It has to be a new post. Just a little challenge for myself.

One post per day seems to be working out so far, but I’d like to get a second post in at least one day each week. But I’d rather not put up “filler” posts if it can at all be helped.

And, finally, the comments. My personal blog celebrated it’s one year anniversary on November 22nd. There have been 299 comments in that time. BloggingNotes has had 154 comments. In a month. I couldn’t believe I was reading those numbers. I’m very grateful for all of the feedback that I’ve gotten.

The top commenters each had 5 comments in the last 30 days:

If there’s anything that you’d like to see covered here, or if you’d be interested in guest blogging (in exchange for a guest post on your site), please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Thank you very much for a great first month.

Thanks, Jason, I appreciate it. I think I need to find a monetization consultant or a blog consultant to see how much further I can take this thing.

Congrats man, and keep up the good work. With the way you’ve been posting, it doesn’t show that your blog is just 1 month old.

    Cheers!

I agree with Jason, you are doing a good job, keep it up.

I myself am feeling the same growth…since I started Zooming, my blog has totally changed and the traffic this past week has gone nuts.

Thanks very much, Saedel. When I look back, it doesn’t feel like its been a month already. Gotta try and say ahead of that period where the well runs dry. I’m still good for awhile, though, so I’m not too worried.

Thanks, Mike. I really have to wonder if all of the progress I’ve seen in the last month would have been possible without BZ? It’s made it so much easier to draw traffic in, and, hopefully get return readers, too.

I like other blogs, articles in here appear to be written from the heart. Not boxed at all.
