It was just yesterday that I launched BNN, and it was also yesterday that I first heard about BloggingZoom, described as being “like digg, but just for bloggers”.
I have to admit that a description like that wouldn’t have endeared me to the site very much. Digg is good for bringing in short-term traffic and testing your server to see if it can withstand the onslaught. It used to be known as the Slashdot Effect, a term you don’t hear much anymore.
But I decided to give the site a try anyway, and I’m very glad that I did. One of the things that I really appreciate about the site is that you have to be a blogger to submit to it. All of the posts that you’ll find will be on
blogs - no Associated Press, no Google News, no CNN, etc. This gives your post a chance to be seen, and that’s really what it all comes down to.I’ve submitted three or four posts to BZ since yesterday, and my post about
not reading your post if the title sucks appears to have been a bit of a hit, generating about seven comments (not bad for a blog that was all of about 6 hours old when I wrote it…)Will it bring in the long term traffic, or is it going to be more like digg? Only time will tell, but BZ is a tool that I’m going to be using for the foreseeable future.

Nice post. I thnk you will find that it will be a big boost to your overall value in time for your blog. And its obvious you know that the more participation you have the more of value it will be.

I am experiencing amazing traffic which I think is indirectly from Blogging Zoom. It has also been fun.

Blendworx - Thanks for your feedback, and, yes, I have to admit to being amazed at the amount of traffic that BZ has brought in. Having a couple of posts submitted to StumbleUpon by BZ readers hasn’t hurt, either.

You certainly picked the right time to start a blog! BloggingZoom is much better than Digg for us bloggers and I think you’ll find it will help you build your website much faster than you could have imagined. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, Jason. I appreciate it. Yeah, a few things came together at just the right time with regards to the launch of this site and me finding out about BloggingZoom. I’m definitely staying with it.
