What Are Your Blogging New Year’s Resolutions?

Date December 31, 2007

Welcome to BloggingNotes. You may want to subscribe to my full text RSS feed. This message will only appear once. Thanks for visiting!

To close out the year, and hopefully put an end to the endless series of ‘question’ posts that I’ve had between Christmas and now, I thought I’d ask about what resolutions you have for the new year, that are specifically related to blogging.

I resolve to:

  • Start at least one more niche blog and try and make more money from my blogging. Thanks for the push, Vic.
  • Network with other bloggers more than I have in the past.
  • Mentor someone else starting out in blogging.
  • Read everything that I can to get further ahead than I am now. Learn to filter out the good information from the bad.
  • To not write any more “question” posts for awhile. They’re getting tiring.

That’ll do for now, I think. I spent a little time trying to work out what I want to do with my blogging, and how I could get there. These are things that I feel will help me do it.
Finally, I’d like to thank everyone who supported BloggingNotes since its inception a couple of months ago. I’ve really enjoyed working on the site, and look forward to where it can go in the next year. Thank you.

I don’t believe in year-long resolutions because people always seem to forget about them by March and only bother to review them at the end of December. I’ve written about this in a couple of recent blog entries on my site. Your comments are very welcome. :)

So far, I have set myself three short-term objectives:

    1. Get 50 subscribers by the end of March
    2. Get more organised with my blog entries by assigning topics to specific dates before I write the entries
    3. Add a promotional banner for my website system

I have already achieved #3, so I may come up with a new objective to take its place.

I haven’t made any New Year’s Resolutions for my blog or for my personal life. I guess I’ve gotten to the point where so many of the previous years resolutions were quickly forgotten, I just try now to use each day to better myself and my relationships.
